Other than a bunny Talbot allowed in the beginning of the game, he and the Blueshirts in front of him walled the oh-so-mighty New York Islanders last night. Cam’s now 2-0 against the Isles, and some smart guy I know predicted that when these teams met in the playoffs, Cam would go 4-0 in a sweep and give Henrik a series of rest. That still holds true.
As for the game, Kevin Hayes had one of the grittiest goals of the season.
And then Rick Nash hammered in one of the luckier goals of the year off of Strome’s skate, but when you’re hot you’re good, and when you’re good, you’re lucky, and that’s a fact.
Last time in the Coliseum for the Rangers though, I’m happy my team won’t have to degrade itself to that type of unprofessional standards ever again that is the Nassau Coliseum. (Of course, until these teams meet in late April, please.)
As for the Fast flopping, I’ll be the first to admit it was bad. Very bad. But, I honestly don’t consider Jesper Fast a real New York Ranger. No fourth-line guy who’s been up and down between the pro’s and the AHL even deserves criticism or praise in any situation.
Let’s Go Blueshirts, see ya in April/May, Isles.
