Lose more for Okafor is officially the slogan for the 2014-2015 New York Knicks

I have been intentionally not blogging about the Knicks all season. They’re disgusting. A disgrace to basketball. They have a worse record than a team that is actually trying to lose every night. Now that we’ve fallen into the no. 1 draft spot with the worst record in the league, traded away any assets that might help us win any games at all this year and are considering shutting down our superstar forward that we just signed to a $125 million contract, I figured now is as good a time as any to start Jahlil Watch 2015.

Jahlil Okafor is far and away the most talented prospect in this class. He is being hyped as the most offensively polished big man in a long, long time. Is this perhaps like Patrick Ewing coming to New York 25 or so years ago (before Okafor was even born mind you)?

I watch every one of Okafor’s games and I know I’m not an NBA scout and that my opinion on these matters means next to nothing, but I see something in Jahlil. The way that he dominates anybody that you put up against him is unreal. He can hit mid range shots, he can play physical down low, he shoots at an insane field goal percentage. He will be a legit offensive weapon the first second he steps on an NBA floor. The only weakness in his game as of now is that he isn’t a dominate defender, although he does have all the tools to be. Let’s meet Jahlil Okafor:

  • Birthday: 12/15/95 (he’s younger than me)
  • NBA Position: Center
  • Class: Freshman
  • Ht: 6-11
  • Wt: 270
  • Hometown: Chicago, IL
  • High School: Whitney Young
2014-15 DUKE 28.8 8.1-11.8 .682 0.0-0.0 .000 3.3-5.8 .573 8.7 1.5 1.7 0.8 1.9 2.3 19.5
