Rangers run train on the Habs

So I guess this is officially going to be the theme of the season. Get destroyed and embarrassed one game a week, come out and lose in a shootout, and then complexly and utterly dominate one game a week. That’s sustainable right?

Last night was a statement game for the Rangers. A rematch of the Eastern Conference Finals was not supposed to go well for the Blueshirts. Montreal came in having won 8 of their last 9 games and were one of the hottest teams in the NHL. But the second they stepped on the ice, the game was all Rangers.

Dominic Moore started the party off 10 minutes into the game when he got a pass from Tanner Glass. This was Moore’s first goal of the season and his first goal since game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals against yep, the Canadians. In the second period, the Rangers got two snipes from Martin St. Louis and Derek Stepan to make the game 3-0. At this point it was all but over. The king was on point and we were ready to step on their necks.

Of course it wouldn’t be a game without Rick Nash chipping in. After Hags put us up 4-0 in the 3rd, Ricky swooped in for a garbage time goal, his 14th of the season. Rick Nash, so hot right now, Rick Nash.

Odawgs Stars:

3rd star: Derek Stepan- Put up a goal and an assist. The ex-Badger has been nothing short of awesome since returning from injury a few weeks ago

2nd star: Dominic Moore- Got the Rangers off to the start they needed and gave them the only goal they needed. Dom Moore has the Habs number.

1st star: Henrik Lundqvist- The King put on a show last night. The Rangers haven’t given up a goal in two games now and there’s nobody better to point to than our netminders. Every Rangers fan knows that it starts and ends with our goalies, and nobody is apologizing for that.
