DETROIT — Minutes after the Lions made free tickets available for Monday night’s rescheduled game between the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets, fans were being turned away from the box office at Ford Field.
The team originally planned on distributing tickets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, but fans scooped up all 500 tickets — with a two-ticket limit per person — within 10 minutes.
Scalpers quickly moved to sell the tickets on the streets outside the stadium, in one case asking $125 for a single ticket.
“This ain’t a free game, man,” one scalper said.
Damn, people love free shit. it doesn’t matter what it is, if it says free, people will come out in droves to get it.
I just don’t understand how they were only giving out 500 tickets. Aren’t there like 80,000 seats in Ford Field? So are there just going to be like 70,000 seats that are going to go unused? What is it going to look like at this game, just huge sections of empty seat? This is going to look like a Mets game in mid-september.
Now the scalpers, those guys are geniuses. 100% profit. The idiots are the people who think they’re seeing a free game. They’ve got to pay for parking, $50, pay for tailgating, $25, pay for food, drinks etc in the game, $30, and before you know is your “free game” turned into a $100 day. Hope it’s worth it to see the Jets slaughter the Bills suckers.
Btw- This is what the Bills are tweeting out. Come on Buffalo, it’s fucking snow, get over yourselves. Sure it must suck that you won’t be able to get out of your house until April but seriously, #OneBuffalo? Be better. Drink some hot chocolate, watch a movie and stop bitching.
