J.R. Smith has a thing for other players groins, and it’s kinda freaking me out

New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has been suspended one game for striking Washington Wizards guard Glen Rice Jr. in the groin Tuesday, the NBA announced.

Smith struck Rice on a drive to the basket in the second half of the Knicks’ loss to Washington. Rice was whistled for a foul on the play.Smith is suspended for Wednesday night’s game against Detroit. He has been in trouble with the league on several occasions in recent seasons. For context on the Smith suspension, the NBA also suspended Atlanta’s Dennis Schroder for striking DeMarcus Cousins‘ groin last season.

Here we go again. It was only a matter of time before we found out which J.R. Smith we were going to get this year. Are we going to get the 2012-2013 J.R. who was a saint, and won the sixth man of the year award, or were we going to get 2013-2014 J.R., the J.R. that couldn’t give two shits about the team or anything other than going out at night and making a joke out of the season. It’s not that hard to figure out that we’re going to get 2013-2014 J.R. The only splice is that if he keeps doing stuff like this he’ll be out of town before he knows it. The Zen Master was already looking into trading J.R. before this groin incident. J.R. is slowly on his way out, one groin touch at a time.
