Islanders vs. Rangers – There Will Be Blood

Here it is.  The first Isles/Rags matchup of the season.  First big game of the year.  The Hometown Heroes take on those smug bastards from Manhattan in the Garden tonight at 7PM.

The Isles come into tonight’s matchup after winning their first two games of the season.  The Isles’ power play has been fantastic, scoring on half of all advantage opportunities.  Brock Nelson has been playing like a man possessed, scoring 6 points in the first two games.  Should be a good matchup.  Games versus the Rangers are always tough and physical, and Hank is no joke between the pipes.  The Isles’ gunners are going to have their work cut out for them against the reigning Eastern Conference Champions.  It’s statement time.

P.S. My colleagues ODawg and Baca are a shame to Long Islanders everywhere.  As residents of the Island, they choose to not root for the only major professional sports team in history to represent Long Island.  They live a grand total of 10 minutes from the home of the Islanders, and choose to spit in Long Island’s face.  Their opinions are flat out incorrect.

P.P.S. Madison Square Garden is a basketball arena.
